Silver earrings with citrine quartz and enamels

Silver 925/1000 hook earrings composed by a crown, decorated with green and yellow enamels, on which is set a citrine quartz. The earrings are totally handmade realized with the techniques of Sardinian filigree, lost-wax casting and cold enameling, finished and assembled by hand.

Dome diameter: 19 mm.

The dome of the earrings is inspired by the design of an ancient ring produced in Sardinia since the 18th century. In ancient times, it was given as a gift on the occasion of engagement, a gift that over time became an ornamental, universal piece of jewelry due to its beauty and cheerfulness of color.
The ring´s crown was adorned with bezels containing glass paste stones (colored glass), given the limited availability of precious stones on the island. To recreate the effect of glass, we used colored enamels, naturally matching the color of the center stone. The domes are decorated with an elegant motif made of Sardinian filigree, taken from original 19th-century rings and updated to respond to everyday use.
A jewel has been able to cross centuries and fashions with its timeless charm.
